In the opening minutes of the race at Laguna Seca, the number 4 Corvette C6-R was damaged due to unintentional contact from another car. Within a couple of laps the pit crew was ready to repair the rear quarterpanel of the vette and did so in only about 60 seconds. The repair held for the duration of the 4 hour race and allowed Olivier Beretta to win the 2006 ALMS championship!
